Do you have a library card? I mean, like why not?

You have a driver's license, right? Or maybe a state I.D. card?

If you do not have a library card, please take some time and GO GET ONE! Why you may ask? or "Yeah, I had one as a kid, but..." Library cards are not just for your children. You know that if you're paying taxes, you're already paying for awesome services from your local library. Also, in a bigger way, you are contributing to the greater good of the community too! Look at you being all civic-minded and stuff!

Where I live, my library is part of a larger consortium so not only do we have access to the items within the library, but at least 100 other libraries within the area. Many libraries nationwide do this which is great because it gives patrons opportunities to have access to thousands of resources. Not just books either, movies, ebooks, music and much more.

Did you know you could check out a wifi hotspot at some libraries? Now, you can have traveling wifi for at least two weeks. (or whatever that library's loan rules are)

Speaking of loan rules (which vary greatly from place to place) many libraries are quite generous with them, and many have even given up fines. Check out what Chicago Public Library just recently did...

And these are just a few benefits to talk about.

So, what are you waiting for? Do you have a library card? Membership has its privileges!

What great things does your library offer?
