Here at ModPers, I want to offer book annotations as a way to introduce books and audiovisual treasures that I have surveyed. All thoughts and opinions will be mine unless otherwise noted, and I will make every effort to give credit for ideas that are not original.
My references will be listed in APA or something similar to APA to make sure I cover my bases. I feel that credit should be given where appropriate. The point is we all discuss things that may come from another’s idea. The best part about the conversation is that it can inspire further discussion.
I also enjoy using Novelist as a way to offer further suggestions. You, too, can check out Novelist by checking with your local library to see if they have a subscription. Usually, all you have to add is your library card number and you will then have access. If you live in the Chicagoland area you may have access through your local library. Check their website to see. More on things you can get from your local library here.
GoodReads is also a really good way to find information about books to consider. I’m still building my Goodreads account, so I will share that link soon. However, feel free to check out Goodreads for yourself by clicking the link.
My annotations will be a mixed bag of many different kinds of works. I like to read all kinds of stuff, so I'm not sure that patterns will emerge. You guys tell me after I post my 100th annotation. I post short reviews on my Instagram (@modperslibrarian) page as well so feel free to check that out too!
What books do you all like to read? What books or films would you like to see an annotation? Leave some suggestions in the comments below.
